Even simple animals such as birds for example have a search image when it comes to finding what it needs to survive. If somehow you managed to get through High School without learning a lick of biology, you might not even have a clue to how valuable the study of biology is.

Industrial Melanism:

Prior to the Industrial revolution there lived a certain species of moths, that lived on trees. Now the moths were typically white in color, and because of that they blended in well with the trees where they normally lived.

Now during and after the industrial revolution when soot became to quite common on the very same trees where this species of moths lived, a very interesting thing happened.

The moths which were now prevalent on these trees which were now darker in color were black.

The work pioneered by non other than Charles Darwin, explained this phenomenon (even before it occurred in the post Industrial Revolution period in England) in a very important concept known as Natural Selection.

Conclusion:

If you are teaching a subject known as Regent's High School Biology, in the New York State School System, you can tell your students who know they want study computer science or website development, that SEO (having a search image of what you are looking to find on the world wide web) can be directly related to Charle's Darwin's theory of Natural Selection.

Today I spent about 15 minutes mixing it up with the Facebook crowd in my anti-low brow tirade, where I take aim at anyone who does not clearly grasp the concepts they hear on the way to work on talk radio, yet are happy to engage in passionate dialogue either for or against a given political issue.

Just as there once was a historic movement called the enlightenment, social tropism is a movement towards something, just because there are many others who are talking or thinking about the same thing. Therefore social tropism represent one more thread being intertwined with a general trend that causes people not to be independent thinkers, but rather to embrace concepts, only because others are talking about and agree with them.

Social Tropism Can Easily Make A Square Peg Fit Into A Round Hole

The under-educated masses, and the low brow rank and file people of the US, try to sound intelligent by mimicking the words they just heard on talk radio.

People like to hear it, mainly because it finds a convient scape goat where they can dump of all our worlds greatest problems onto one one politician or political party.

Social Tropism is perhaps the most dangerous of all of today's trends because the trend as practiced today, does not cause one to focus on the real causes which are at the root of Todays Global Problems. Rather its a problem because peoples minds are being "co-opted" and their thoughts (or active intelligence) or "ability to think for themselves" is being replaced by the so called experts who are doing all of them thinking for them.

World Jewish Congress - World Jewish Congress mourns passing of former Czech President Vaclav Havel: "Born in 1936 to a wealthy family in Czechoslovakia, Havel became a playwright, but after the Soviet-led clampdown on the Prague Spring in 1968 his books were banned. In 1977, Havel co-authored the 'Charter 77', which formed the platform for the movement for democratic change. Faced with constant harassment and imprisonment as Czechoslovakia's most famous dissident, he Velvet Revolution of 1989 catapulted him to the state presidency, where he oversaw the country's transition to democracy. Havel left office in 2003 and continued writing, publishing a new play in 2008 and directing his first film in 2011."
