Bat Torah girls high school won’t reopen in September - The Jewish Standard: "In 2008, the school moved from Suffern, N.Y., to the former Frisch School building in Paramus, renting the space from Frisch (which had moved to new quarters) and subletting some of it to Ben Porat Yosef, an elementary school. The roles were reversed when Ben Porat Yosef took over as principal tenant.
Bat Torah had planned to move to the Jewish Center of Teaneck this summer and prepare 11 classrooms there for the beginning of the school year.
But instead, said Bak, “we have until the end of the month, which is this week, to clear out of the Frisch building. I have invited a few yeshivot to ‘inherit’ whatever items they can use.” The remaining items will be sold."

It is designed to inspire students by making their Judaism alive and vibrant. Some of the sefarim being studied are Chovot HaLevavot, Kuzari, Derech Hashem, Ohr Yisrael, Siftei Chaim, and Michtav Me’Eliyahu. Many of the topics studied relate to the holidays. Students are required to understand the language of the text and to research biographical and historical information about the author and the time period in which the books were written.

This course comprises an in-depth study of the Jewish holidays. When an Ilan student completes this course, she is familiar with the laws and customs of all Jewish holidays and has been exposed to fundamental Jewish thought about them."

Rosenblatt continued in his explanation of Rabbi Shmuel di Ozeda’s idea, Moshe’s spirituality was closer to that of Yaakov’s in that he was in a sense removed from the every day sensibility of the common Jewish man. Indeed one could imagine (my own thought is being explained here) that in order to be so close to the mind, thoughts and will of G-d, that it indeed must even on some level be a necessary qualification to be somewhat aloof from the mindset of even the most righteous of the common man."
