Eduardo Saverin | CrunchBase Profile

Eduardo Saverin | CrunchBase Profile: "He met Mark Zuckerberg in his sophomore year while punching the Phoenix S.K. Club and later co-founded Facebook with Zuckerberg during his junior year, assuming the role of business manager. However, due to internal conflicts and differences of opinion with Zuckerberg over the following summer when Saverin was living in New York (where he worked briefly as a finance intern), Saverin drifted from what was then known as thefacebook, a fast-growing Silicon Valley start-up. After outside investor principally venture capitalist and PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel took control of the start-up’s finances and capital needs and backed Zuckerberg as its CEO, Saverin’s role diminished and his influence evaporated."

The Death Of The Spec | TechCrunch

The Death Of The Spec | TechCrunch: "During the PC years, specs also mattered because there was one common dominant force in computing: Microsoft. Because Windows was everywhere, you could fairly reliably gauge the performance of one machine against another. But with the rise of the Mac and more importantly, smartphones and tablets, you can’t as easily stack machines up against one another performance-wise.

My MacBook Air doesn’t have the specs of a brand new HP PC laptop — but it still feels faster. Maybe it’s OS X, or maybe it’s the solid state drive. Point is, consumers don’t and shouldn’t care. They care about which machine will boot faster and which will be easier to navigate. Time to web matters."

NationBuilder - the Community Organizing System

NationBuilder - the Community Organizing System: "To organize people online, leaders need both a website and a people database, but it's expensive and hard to connect them together.

Netanyahu: 300 New Families to Join Beit El - Inside Israel - News - Israel National News: "Netanyahu addressed the residents of Judea and Samaria (Yehuda and Shomron), saying: "I understand your pain. I share it. I met dome of the families, I saw the people, the children. I want to tell you what I told them – there is no government that supports or will support the settlement enterprise more than the one that I head. No government has withstood such great pressures that could have harmed the settlement enterprise."

Liane's Dvars -- Season ב

Liane's Dvars -- Season ב: "G-d is a very touchy subject.  We live in a time where almost anything goes, but one mention of the word and you’re categorized as either an unthinking freak, a scientific atheist.  We often avoid the word altogether, leaving our spirituality to fate, destiny, or messages from the universe.  Rarely will we assign such awesome powers to a force that has a name.  Or a purpose for sending those messages.

Because if we did, the ramifications would be cataclysmic.

When people ask me why I became “religious” I often correct them and explain how I became religious.  But the why?  The answer to that is easy.  I think it’s the right thing to do. "

Editors Note: Its's nice to see other blogs out there sharing their own personal experiences from the point of view of becoming observant of Jewish religious traditions later in life.

Complete the Song: Lyrics That Could Have Been contest - De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da by The Police

Complete the Song: Lyrics That Could Have Been contest - De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da by The Police: " put in silly lyrics or mumbling (filler) in their songs when they can't think of what to write and think they'll put something in later, but once people hear the song with the "filler" lyrics, they sometimes stay (because bandmates like them).

De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da by The Police is one of those songs.

If you so choose, come up with lyrics that could have been used whereever the phrase "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da" is heard. The best lyrics will get the tip"
