Liane's Dvars

Liane's Dvars: "he first activity was to light my Chanukkah menorah. A table was set near a window with many menorahs already lit. The sight of all of these candles made me feel very proud to be Jewish.

The people I met Thursday night were very friendly, normal, and Jewish. My expectations of the trip started out low since I had never been on a trip where people actually paid money to be on a religious trip. The only religious trips I had been on were ones were Rabbis were trying to do anything they could to get you to be Jewish. They practically gave away those trips for free"

jdeal: Jewish New York daily deals - How it works

jdeal: Jewish New York daily deals - How it works: "jdeal is very simple to use.
There’s nothing Talmudic about it. You don’t have to be a rabbi or a doctor or a lawyer to figure it out (although if you are a doctor or a lawyer, are you single?). Just follow these simple steps to take advantage of seriously surprising deals."

How to Get Your Teen Out of Bed for School

How to Get Your Teen Out of Bed for School: "Teenagers like to sleep late and if you have a defiant teen, it may become a daily chore to get him out of bed. Let’s take for example, a child who has to be to school at eight o’clock in the morning. You go to his room and wake him up at seven. Then you go back a couple of minutes later and wake him up again, and then again, and again.

You do whatever you can to get him out of bed. You may even have to drag him out of bed. Now your teen may curse at you, or maybe he does not even curse, but you just cannot get him out of bed."

dot us (.us) DNS error Website Technology Issues forum at WebmasterWorld

dot us (.us) DNS error Website Technology Issues forum at WebmasterWorld: "that's a .us site. I never would have thought of that having anything to do with the difficulties, so I about fell over when I saw the title of adrian's thread - especially the subtitle/description, because that's exactly what's happening with my site. It's not general: I and a couple of other site regulars have intermittent times of not being able to access the site. It may last an hour, or it may last a couple of days. It doesn't seem to be browser related; if it won't open in Firefox then it won't open in IE, and vice versa. One of the site regulars switched to a better ISP, and my ISP set up a different kind of connection for me, and both of those things helped but certainly didn't get rid of the problem."
